The Sinag Arts Studio
A 400sqm creative studio space located near the Mandaluyong City Hall, The Sinag Art Space serves as a venue for rehearsals, theater workshops, performances and studio shoots.
A co-production of the Japan Foundation, Tanghalang Pilipino and the Sinag Arts Foundation, Bakeretta is a psychological thriller, somewhat in the tradition of Japanese horror films like Ring and The Grudge, but with a quirky, musical twist! An amateur theater company rehearses a modern ghost (obake) story – “The Ghost in the Toilet” and the mounting pressures of opening night get mixed up with their personal dramas, comedies and horrors. This spine-tingling play within a play is set to be directed by the playwright himself, multi-awarded screenwriter and one of Japan’s most exciting theater directors, Chong Wishing.
