A mysterious stone falls from the heavens and transforms a gay beautician into a superwoman endowed with uncanny strength and remarkable beauty. As she fearlessly defends her town from a giant frog, zombies and planet women, she finds her true calling and concedes to destiny. From the collaboration of the comic book artist Carlo Vergara (recipient of a Manila Critics Circle National Book Award), Chris Martinez (Palanca award-winning playwright), Vincent DeJesus (Urian award-winning composer, Palanca award-winning playwright) and stage director Chris Millado comes this hilarious musical that celebrates Pinoy high camp. Laugh and fall in love as a parlorista superhero(ine) saves the world!
The script was used as material for the 2006 ASEAN-Japan Technical Theater Workshop where fifteen technical theater practitioners from Japan and 9 ASEAN member countries converged for two weeks at the Sinag Arts Studio, for an intensive workshop covering six theater disciplines: Set Design facilitated by Gino Gonzales, Lighting facilitated by Shoko Matsumoto, Art Administration facilitated by Nestor Jardin, Sound Design facilitated by Ishii Hiromi, Technical Direction facilitated by Hitoshi Yoshiki and Stage Management facilitated by Ed Murillo.
