In Japan, it’s the wrap that counts — to the Japanese, the gift wrapping, or origata, is almost as important as the gift itself — to give a gift is to wrap one’s heart. In a session, learn the art of gift wrapping with cloth, furoshiki, and the symbollic functions of wrapping.
